Oasis News.....

Grade 1  

The Grade Ones have been learning all about living and non-living things. We have been discussing what living things need to survive and have been learning lots about one very important part of the plant life cycle — seeds!  

This week, we got our hands dirty and made our very own seed bombs! We mixed clay, soil and native flower seeds together to create small balls, which we will plant in our native garden beds next week. We can’t wait to watch our seeds grow and see our garden come to life! 

Grade 2

Grade 2 students have continued to learn about and experience the many tasks in the OASIS garden such as weeding, raking, composting and some planting. 

Foundation

The Foundation students made some seed heads this week in class. We hope they made it home safely and are starting to sprout their hair so the children can closely so the children can closely the growth.  

We are also looking for parent volunteers to join us in the garden during Weeks 8 and 9. We would love to have some eager volunteers come along and help our students with their gardening activities. 

If you or someone in your family has a special gardening skill, knowledge or interest that you would like to share with our students, we would especially love to hear from you!
