Science Week
We have been very fortunate to have received a science grant from the Australian Science Teachers Association for our science week this year. The money was spent purchasing items for our ‘’Great Wind Festival’’ which included a new weather station and resources for our wind themed activities held at playtime.
A big thank you to Mr Wright, Mr Geary and Mr Taylor for helping us get it up and running. Now we can collect real weather data and learn more about the wind and weather at our school. Look up at the roof near 2BF on your way to the soccer pitch and you can see where it is.
Thank you to all, who entered in our competitions and participated in making paper helicopters, paper planes, parachutes, windsocks, seed bombs and wind cars. Frank’s playgroup even got involved, reading a book about the wind and making and testing stick wind streamers. We have loved how enthusiastic and eager our school community has been to celebrate science!
