MUSIC LEARNING AREA NEWS 

Congratulations to all our performers from the Keyboard and Voice Soiree, which was held on Wednesday May 15th. This event involved around 20 of our voice and keyboard students, right through from Year 7 to Year 12, and we heard amazing growth from them in their performances!  

We have the following Soirees still to come this term. If your child is involved an event will appear on Compass. Please provide consent when it appears. Students should check with their instrumental teacher as to what they will be performing at these events.  

• Percussion, Guitar and Bass Guitar – Monday 17th June – 5pm 
• Brass and Woodwind – Wednesday 19th June – 5pm  

We will also hold two incursions prior to the end of term, for our ensembles that will be performing at Victorian School Music Festival in late July, early August.  

• Choir Incursion – Thursday 20th June – ALL DAY (during class time) 
• Stage Band Incursion – Monday 24th June (Period 3 – 4:20pm)

We have just received our performance dates and times for VSMF, so please add these dates to your calendar if your child is involved in one of these ensembles.  

• STAGE BAND – Tuesday 30th July – 12pm – 2:15pm @ Hawthorn Town Hall 
• CHOIR – Wednesday 7th August – 4pm–6:30pm @ Box Hill Salvation Army Arts Centre
