Mamma Mia - PRODUCTION UPDATE - Camp!

Creating Futures Together

STAGE!!

Our set for MAMMA MIA has come together nicely in our little Theatrette in the Bunjil Centre. We’ve had a huge team involved in bringing all of the compartments together, both students, staff, parents and wider community members.

A big thank-you to the following people who have made this all possible!! Parent Helpers; Emma Green and Susan Burley. Staff; Nick Gramatakos, Andrew Steele, Gary Campbell, Nandini Subramaniam, Madeleine Mitchell. Student Team; Shay Coxhead (Leader of the Set Painting), Jade Coxhead, Chloe Burley (Graphic Designer – Poster and Hoodies). Students who have assisted with Set Building and Construction; Jimmy Fitzgerald, Levi Becker, Lucas Joy, Jake Cain, Isayah Schellebeck, Carter Dean, Sam O’Callaghan.

As well as Narelle Tabone of Graphic Attitude, who has made our props and small set items, as well as bringing the finishing touches to life on our stage. All of your combined efforts have made our set look as amazing as it does! I hope you enjoy seeing your handywork off on stage.

CAMP

Production Camp is a highlight every year for the cast, band and crew leaders involved in our annual school production. This year from May 10-12th we attended YMCA Discovery Camp in Mt Evelyn to rehearse for our upcoming Mamma Mia!

The students spent a massive 17 hours of rehearsal time across 2.5days, all the while making time for some fun and games with an evening camp fire and movie night alongside some hilarious moments and of course our annual Red Faces Talent Night – judged by the most skeptical teachers we have available!!

Camp is where the production ‘family’ is formed and also where the show goes from being in multiple pieces, to something we can somewhat call a ‘show’. Dress rehearsals have started this week, with the set coming together spectacularly, and Mamma Mia is shaping up to be one of our best shows yet! If you haven’t already gotten your tickets, please do. I think I can confidently say you won’t regret it!
