Principal's Message

Art Show

A heartfelt thank you to our Visual Arts teachers Angela Pulbrook and Tina Downard and the Art Show Committee for leading our 40th Annual Art Show. This event requires significant imagination, planning and effort to bring it all together and create a memorable community event. I want to extend my appreciation to all of our staff, students, School Council and families for contributing to a successful Art Show. Thank you for coming along to celebrate the important role that art plays in our lives.

Parent Association

A number of you attended some recent meetings where we explored how a new and re-energised  Parent Association can help bring our community together. We talked about opportunities for social activities, fundraising events, school information sessions and more. I will present a summary of these ideas at an online meeting at 6.30pm on Wednesday 12 June so that we can identify priorities and our next steps. The WebEx meeting can be accessed via this link:

Celebrating our Students

Did you know that some of our Mount View students were selected to represent our school in this year's NEVR Youth Concert? This event is run by the Department of Education’s North Eastern Victorian Regional office and our students played in the String Orchestra at Hamer Hall this week.

Congratulations to Angela Z, Annie W, Jhielle Y, Lakshmi S, Saeli L and former student Amber L for representing our school with aplomb.

I received a lovely email from Jack Lam, conductor of the String Orchestra and I am sharing some of this with you all.

The MVPS students were not only fearless when facing the overwhelming challenges of playing among the mostly secondary school students, many of whom are experienced orchestra players, but they were also some of the most cooperative and best-behaving students who contributed greatly to the overall success during rehearsals.

Given the fact that some of these Mount View PS students have never played with any orchestra and there were only a total of 9 students from primary schools among a field of almost 100 players in the orchestra, I sincerely hope that their tremendous effort would be appreciated for the benefit of music education in our public schools.
