Combined Maroondah and Manningham Division Cross Country:
On Tuesday 4th June, 7 students from years 3 to 6 represented POPS and the Ringwood District at the Combined Maroondah and Manningham Division Cross Country Carnival. The event was held at Yarra Glen Racecourse which saw competitors run around the race track. 12/13 yo and 11 yo age groups ran 3km while the 9/10 yo age group ran 2km.
It was a mild winters day on Tuesday and even the sun came out for some time. The track was in good condition and definitely wasn't as wet as it has been in previous years. The students who competed were Amelia M, Josh S, Thomas Bl, Lacey E, Eden B, Max B and Will R.
Congratulations, here are the results;
12/13 yo girls | 12/13 yo boys | 11 yo girls | 9/10 yo girls | 9/10 yo boys |
---|---|---|---|---|
Amelia M - 44th | Josh S - 1st | Lacey E - 31st | Eden B - 18th | Max B - 29th |
Thomas Bl - 43rd | Will R - 41st |
What a great achievement, you should all be very proud of yourselves! It is a fantastic achievement to get to Division level as our division is huge and involves over 60 schools. Students demonstrated our POPS values and showed determination, courage and excellence. Unfortunately, only the top 12 competitors from each age group progress through to the Eastern Region.
A huge congratulations to Josh who won his race and will now compete at the Eastern Region Cross Country carnival next Tuesday! This is the fourth year in a row Josh has made it to Region level for Cross Country. This is a assive achievement, well done Josh. We wish you the best of luck next Tuesday at Yarra Glen Racecourse!
