The Foundation students have participated in the drama curriculum and have explored various scenarios for their acts. In the photos below, the students performed an act about a farmer having to deal with a mischievous kangaroo who keeps returning to their property.
This term in Science, the Year 1 and 2 students are learning about light and sound and how we are able to see and hear things. Students have investigated how sound is created through vibrations and learnt about how these vibrations travel from the object creating sound to our ears. Students enjoyed making their own string telephones to look at how sound can travel through solid materials with the sound of our voice travelling into the cup, along the string and into the cup being held by the other person.
Year 3 and 4 students have enjoyed learning how to sew. They sewed buttons on for eyes and used running stitch to create their very own zenki softies.
In Mandarin class, Year 5 & 6 students learned about school facilities. They created a school map and labelled the school facilities with Chinese words. They also made flash cards practising their handwriting in Chinese pinyin and characters.
In PE, year 5 and 6 students have been refining their throwing, jumping and running skills in preparation for the Athletics season. They have been learning about the different events in Athletics and applying specialised skills. In this lesson, students were taught how to perform the scissor kick technique for high jump.
