MUSIC NEWS

Hello everyone,

This week in Music, the Preps used high and low voices as sound effects to help tell the story of the Three Little Pigs.

The 1/2s moved to different types of music and made two note compositions.

The 3/4s played ukuleles and performed calypso music, while the 5/6s worked on their own musical goals.

In Choir news, the Eisteddfod is only next week, so we practised by performing our songs in assembly today!

MUSIC AWARDS

The class Music Award goes to Prep B for great dancing and drawing to animal music this week.

The individual awards go to Anja Connelly and Teddy Smith in 1/2A for fantastic dancing, music reading, and chime playing.

Thank you,

Mrs Megan Garland

STEM

This week in STEM, Preps continued to discuss words to describe the properties of materials.

Grade 1/2s had to test six objects in four different ways (squashing, twisting, bending, stretching) to see if the item did that movement.

Grade 3/4s learnt about plastic pollution in the ocean and had to design a poster to encourage people not to pollute.

Grade 5/6s concluded their rusting experiment, seeing that saltwater caused rust on the steel wool jar.

Well done to Lottie Dowsett and Jordan O’Sullivan for receiving STEM certificates this week.
