Head of Secondary Years' Report 

Dear Secondary Years Families,

It has been another action packed 2 weeks in Secondary Years at Hazel Glen College!

In week 7, we celebrated the milestone of our Year 6's receiving their Grade 6 windcheaters. This is the very first Year 6 cohort at HGC to have the privilege of wearing a commemorative top as part of their uniform, and they were all very excited and looked great. Mr Van Meeuwen has opened up one final opportunity for those who missed out on ordering one. Please place your orders by the 13th of June. 

We have also celebrated at the Year 12 formal, and we have also enjoyed Bully Zero and Hope Tour incursions. There are more details and photos in the Celebrations of Learning and Community section of this newsletter. 

We also celebrated Reconciliation Week in week 7, which included taking students to the Sorry Day event at Whittlesea Council, hosting a Yarning session with Kelsey Bonds and a Reconciliation Afternoon Tea. All classes also shared an opportunity to learn about Reconciliation Week in their iThrive session. 

Next week we welcome back Assistant Principal Chloe Devitt, who will oversee our Year 10-12 students. Chloe is an experienced HGC staff member and we are looking forward to the support she will provide for our Senior Students. 

We wish our Year 10 and 11 students well in their exams over the next two weeks.
