This will be held at David McFarlan Reserve (Sorrento Football Oval). Please see your nForma notice sent out last week to ACCEPT for your child to participate OR compete (see explanation for this on the nForma). We require many, many parents to assist as:

- setting up the course
- recording results (these serve as trials for the District Cross Country for Years 3-6)
- collating House Team Points
helping cook the sausages
We ask that all students come DRESSED IN HOUSE TEAM COLOURS please but they must be able to participate safely in what they are wearing.
Summer Lightning Premierships
On Wednesday 22nd April, the Year 5/6 students completed one of three sports against the other nine primary schools of the Phillip District. Thank you to Mr Whelan, Miss Connolly, Mrs O'Shannassy and Sarah Pancic for accompanying the students and also to all parents who coached or scored on the day or washed uniforms following this event. We are very grateful for your support and assistance.
- Our Basketball Teams played at Jubilee Park Stadium in Frankston
- Our Cricket and Volleystars Teams played at Tootgarook Reserve
RESULTS:
All of our teams competed very well, we had a great time and best of all, represented St Joseph’s by being respectful, encouraging and having lots of fun.
Our Girls Basketball Team was very strong and won every match convincingly and came first in their pool. They then played the winners of the other pool in the Grandfinal but lost by only 1 point after the siren, finishing Runners-Up in their division.
Our ‘Boys Basketball “Á’’ Team finished 3rd in their strong pool of basketballers playing very well as a team, while the Boys Basketball “ B” team finished 4th in their division, but had lots of fun.
In the Girls Volleystars Team, the girls played very well and won all of their matches in the rounds, but then lost the grandfinal, finishing in runners up position.
The Boys Cricket Team enjoyed their day and with a couple of team mates short, they were surprised to hear that they finished 4th out of 7 teams, after being beaten in every match but still had the best percentage of the final 4 teams to finish 4th overall.
Kind regards,
