First Eucharist Preparation – Year 4 Students
On Saturday evening, May 30th, our Year 4 students will be invited to receive the Sacrament of First Eucharist for the first time. This is a very special step in their faith journey, as they prepare to share in the Eucharist and take part more fully in the life of our faith community.
Over the coming weeks, these students will begin preparing for this important occasion by learning more about the meaning of Eucharist, the gift of Jesus’ love, and how we are called to live with kindness, gratitude and care for others each day.
If there are any students in Year 5 or Year 6 who have been baptised and would also like to receive the Sacrament of First Eucharist this year, please contact me as soon as possible so we can include them in the preparation.
We look forward to supporting our students and families during this beautiful and meaningful time.
May, The Month of Mary
In the Catholic tradition, May is a special month dedicated to Mary, the mother of Jesus. Mary was a person of great courage, faith and love. She listened deeply, trusted God, and showed strength even when life was uncertain or difficult.
Mary’s story still has so much to teach us today. She reminds us that we do not need to do big or extraordinary things to make a difference. Sometimes the most powerful things are the small everyday choices we make, showing kindness, including others, caring for someone who is upset, being brave when something feels hard, or saying yes when we are called to help.
Throughout May, our students will have opportunities to learn more about Mary and reflect on the qualities she showed in her life. We will think about how we can follow her example in our classrooms, playground and families by being people of compassion, hope and care.
As we move through this month, we are invited to ask ourselves, How can I bring a little more kindness, courage and love into the world today?
