Year 7 Phillip Island Camp

Our Heatherwood School Year 7 students recently returned from an incredible camp at CYC Phillip Island, where we were lucky enough to enjoy beautiful weather and plenty of exciting adventures!
Throughout the camp, students challenged themselves, built resilience, and embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and positivity. Activities included the giant swing, flying fox, low ropes course, pedal karts, trampolines, initiative games and challenges, and the mechanical rock climbing wall. Students also explored the stunning sights of Phillip Island with visits to The Nobbies, Woolamai Back Beach, and the unforgettable Penguin Parade.
A highlight for many was visiting the historic Churchill Island Farm, where students milked a cow, watched sheep shearing and a sheep dog demonstration, and even saw some of our staff "having a crack" at cracking a whip!
The Year 7 students should be incredibly proud of the way they conducted themselves throughout the camp. Staff were amazed by their behaviour, teamwork, and willingness to step outside their comfort zones to try new things. It was a fantastic experience and a wonderful way to strengthen friendships and create lasting memories.
