Australian and New Zealand Burns Association Art Poster Competition

Gallery Image

The Tasmanian Burns Unit at the Royal Hobart Hospital and the Australian & New Zealand Burns Association (ANZBA) invites art students from Years 7-10 at Mount Carmel College to design an A4 original artwork that promotes awareness around burns treatments.

The prize is $200 and exposure for the artist as the winning design will be used to raise awareness at an upcoming conference.

Full entry details can be found by clicking on the attachment below, however the design should specifically address the use of cool running water for 20 minutes to treat burns and the imagery should be nature based and feature cool blues and greens.

All artworks are to be delivered to Mrs Magnus by 25 June 25. Entry forms are available in the Art Room. Wednesday Art Club time would be a good opportunity to access resources and advice from Mrs Magnus. The competition is being promoted and discussed in art classes but any Year 9 or 10 students not currently studying art are also welcome to enter.

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)

The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) takes place every year. The NCCD is a collection that counts:

  • the number of school students receiving an adjustment or ‘help’ due to disability
  • the level of adjustment they are receiving to access education on the same basis as other students.

This information assists schools to:

  • formally recognise the supports and adjustments provided to students with disability in schools
  • consider how they can strengthen the support of students with disability in schools
  • develop shared practices so that they can review their learning programs in order to improve educational outcomes for students with disability.

The NCCD provides state and federal governments with the information they need to plan more broadly for the support of students with disability.
