Learning & Teaching

Parent Involvement

Looking to be more involved in the school community? Want to know what's going on in the Learning, Teaching and Curriculum space directly from school leaders? Would you like to have relaxed conversations about things that matter to you and have your questions answered about your children's education? I encourage you to join the Curriculum, Education and Policy Committee (CPEC), a Subcommittee of College Council.

CPEC meetings are held in the Conference room at 5:30pm for one hour. Our next meeting date is Tue 14 November. All enquiries welcome.

Semester 2 Assessment Schedule

The Semester 2 Assessment Schedule is available for students and parents to access on Compass. This schedule lists the weeks in which each common assessment tasks take place for each subject, at each year level.

To access the schedule, select 'School Documentation' under the people icon on Compass, then select the 'For Parent' tab and then the 'Assessment Schedule' tab.

Once you open the spreadsheet, select the correct year level using the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet and use the scroll function on the bottom right to locate each subject.

In most situations, we stick to the dates published in the timeline, however in some situations or extenuating circumstances, adjustments may be required. In these instances, the students will be notified in advance.

Teacher Professional Learning

Our Professional Learning Community focus this term is on developing our students’ writing skills. We kicked off the cycle with a great session on Monday looking at student writing samples of explanatory writing, run by some of our fabulous Literacy instructional leaders Ben Karwan, Caitlin Scholefield, and Tanya Moran.

On Thursday, Daniel Brookes and Elise Roper had a great turn out of teachers for our optional Professional Learning Session (PD and Afternoon Tea) on Retrieval Practice Strategies for teachers to use during the important revision period.
