Year 9 Digital Art

The Year 9 Digital Art class reflected on the cultural norms of the 1960s. They gained an understanding of the impact of cultural contexts on our attitudes, beliefs, and values through learning about gender stereotypes. Students developed their knowledge in how audiences engaged with, consumed, and read representations to gain insights into the way media presentations and bias were constructed and formed. Students then applied this information to their Dior perfume advertisements.

Year 9/10 Integrated Systems and Robotics

Our Year 9 and 10 Integrated Systems and Robotics class have started the term learning about some fundamental electrical theory and electronic components. They have used TinkerCAD to digitally simulate circuits and look at how we can measure different electrical properties in a circuit. They've then learnt about rapid prototyping of electrical circuits using breadboards and been able to practice using multimeters to record data and compare these to the simulated values. This week, they have been learning about different electronic components and how they work, and have finished off with building some different circuits using the components and investigating how they can be wired.

Unit 2 Systems Engineering

Our Year 11 Systems class has started production on their Unit 2 Electrotechnological projects - prototyping electronic Assistive Technologies. Students are working hard to bring their designs to life ahead of our Art & Tech Showcase in November, where many of their projects will be on display. We have some exciting technologies being prototyped - from electric wheelchairs to exoskeleton hands for arthritis sufferers and smoke alarm wristbands for the deaf, make sure you come and check them out on Thu 16 November!
