CPS House Athletics Carnival 2023

Last week, Sandringham Athletics Club was filled with excitement, energy, and incredible athleticism as we hosted another successful CPS House Athletics Carnival for our amazing Grade 3-6 students. It was a day to remember, and we're thrilled to share some of the highlights with you!

Our young athletes showcased their talents and sportsmanship as they competed in a wide range of events: 100m, 200m, 800m, 80m Hurdles, Shot Put, Discus, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump & Novelty. The sense of camaraderie and teamwork was palpable, as students cheered for their classmates, encouraging them to reach new heights and push their limits.

The students demonstrated perseverance, resilience, and determination throughout the day and it was heartwarming to witness the smiles of achievement on their faces, whether they were breaking a personal record or conquering a new event.

The four school houses – Ao, Aka, Kiiro & Midori - added an extra layer of excitement to the day. Students proudly donned their house colours, creating a vibrant sea of red, blue, green, and yellow throughout the carnival.

A massive thank you goes out to our dedicated teachers, staff, and parent volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the day ran smoothly. Your efforts did not go unnoticed, and we appreciate your commitment to our students' well-being and success.

Looking Forward:

House Athletics Ribbon Ceremony: We will hold our Ribbon Ceremony at school on Monday 11th of September at 9.30am to recognise and highlight the athletes’ successes from the day. Ribbons will be presented to those placing 1st-4th in all events. This ceremony will be for students only.

District Athletics: Over 45 students will be making their way to Lakeside Stadium at Albert Park next Wednesday, September 13th to represent CPS at Southport District Athletics. A huge GOOD LUCK to those who qualified, CPS is cheering you on! You will be outstanding!

Once again, congratulations to all of our athletes for their outstanding performances and for embodying the true spirit of our school community. We can't wait to see what great achievements lie ahead!
