During the first two weeks of term 4 the grade 3/4TR and MG students have been learning about the sacrament of confirmation and its connection to the scripture story of Pentecost. 

 

In this unit the students explored that wherever God gathers people as the community we call the Church, the Holy Spirit is present and at work. As members of the Church, we show God’s goodness to others and act as Jesus did.

God’s Spirit Alive in Everyone

After Jesus ascended into heaven, the disciples continued to meet and pray together. 

Ten days after Jesus’ ascension, the disciples were praying together when they heard a mighty wind.

Flames began to appear above each of the disciple’s heads. They all began to speak in different languages. They had received the Holy Spirit.

 

Students also drew their own interpretations of what happened at Pentecost. Some of the students' illustrations were used to make cards for Gr 6 Confirmation candidates. Following are some of the students illustrations

 

 

 

 

 

The students have started to participate in whole school meditation every Monday to Thursday from 2:20-2:25pm.

Students have also participated in a Whole School Mass on Tuesday 7th February. Fr Trung celebrated the Mass with us in St James’ Church. Our entrance  song  was  ‘Welcome.’
