Dear Families and Friends,

Thank you all for another wonderful week. It is great to see so many parents and family members each morning at drop off and after school at pick up especially on these sunny days when we can spend some time in conversation. It is one of the very obvious and positive signs of our great school community. With this in mind I would like to let you all know that tomorrow we will be welcoming over twenty children from St John's Primary School Clifton Hill. As I am sure you are all aware, their school will sadly close its doors at the end of this year. Many of their families have come to visit Trinity and I believe they have left here feeling that our school will be able to provide all the things they would hope for in a school. It will of course be a very difficult for them and so I am positive that I speak on behalf of our entire community in letting them know we will welcome them all and make them feel an important part of our school family.  I am hoping that some of the parents of these children will be able to join us for assembly from 2:45pm and I know this will give them a great insight into what it is like to be at Trinity.

Referendum Day Fund Raising

A HUGE thankyou to our Parents & Friends comittee and all the parent helpers who made our fund raising effort such a great success on the weekend. Trinity hosted Referendum Voting and the fund raising activities we are able to organize are such an important activity for our children and I cant thank those who give up their time enough for making them possible. We managed to make approximatly $4000 which will all go towards resources for our school and children.

Staff First Aid Training

On Thursday our entire staff will complete their first aid training. This training  forms a very important part of our professional learning.  There are several components of the training which include, emergency management, CPR, Anaphylaxis Training and Asthma management. This training forms part of our school comittment to child safety and is a compulsory part of our staff development.

Child Safety

Next Friday, 27th October, Trinity will once again acknowledge Day for Daniel as part of our ongoing comittment to Child Safety. Held annually, Day for Daniel encourages teachers to start a conversation with children and young people about personal safety. Trinity conducts child safety education activities  to raise awareness of child safety issues. You can find out more about Day for Daniel HERE and hopefiully take the opportunity to also talk to your children about these imporatnt concepts.

Congratulations Cam!

Another Trinity student, Cam G-S has made us all very proud with an outstanding effort in the School Sports Victoria Regional Athletics. Cam came 5th overall in the 800m knocking 10 seconds off his personal best. Well Done Cam a great effort.

And Well Done Mrs Foley!

Perhaps there is something in the water at Trinity because our very own Mrs Foley completed the Melbourne Marathon on Sunday in an amazing gun time of 03:58:24 a pretty good effort for her first full marathon.

Congratulations  Vihaan!

Vihaan in Year 5 also participated in the Melbourne Marathon on the weekend. He completed the 5km run in 40 mins! What an amazing effort! Have a look at the joy on his face. Congratulations Vihaan... this is a great achievement!

We Pray for Peace

Sadly the fighting in the Middle East is continuing and whilst we may be far away from these tragic events there will no doubt be families we know who may have relatives or friends directly effected by this conflict. I ask that we keep all people suffering because of this war in our hearts and minds.

Prayer for Palestine & Israel

God of light and salvation, our refuge and our strength,

We pray for the people of Israel and Palestine amid the escalating violence.

We pray for those killed and injured by rockets from Gaza in southern Israel.

May your rod and staff comfort them.

We pray for those who are grieving.

May they know your ever-present help.

We pray for the protection of those who have been taken hostage.

As they walk through this dark valley, may they fear no evil.

We pray for the civilians of Gaza.

May they know that their help comes from the Maker of heaven and earth.

And we pray for those in leadership in Gaza and Israel.

May you guide them along the right paths.

We ask all this in union with Christ and trusting in the power of your Holy Spirit.

Amen
