Welcome Back to Term Four

We trust that you had a restful break and enjoyed some quality family moments beyond our school gates. We would like to extend a warm welcome to all of you to Term Four.

Our first day back was full of excitement, as our students dived into a range of activities that set the stage for a memorable term ahead. Here's a glimpse of what each year level got up to:

Prep: Our youngest learners shared their precious artefacts and engaged in a fun guessing game to match baby pictures with the prep teachers.

Year One: The Year One students enjoyed a Teddy Bears picnic, creating memories with their classmates and furry friends.

Year Two: The Year Two students finally got the pyjama day that they had been requesting. They enjoyed their comfiest sleepwear and enjoyed a day of relaxation and learning.

Year Three: Science took centre stage for Year Three students as they delved into a captivating science experiment, fuelling their scientific curiosity.

Year Four: Year Four students wowed us all by sharing their fascinating facts, leaving us in awe of their knowledge and enthusiasm.

Year Five: Year Five students engaged in class vs. class games, building friendships and sharpening skills.

Year Six: Our soon-to-be graduates kicked off their graduation planning, setting the stage for a memorable farewell to their time at our school.

Years Seven and Year Eight: The secondary school came together for a fantastic 'Welcome Back BBQ,' strengthening bonds and building excitement for the term ahead.

With such an enthusiastic start, we're all geared up for an incredible Term Four.

Sun Smart policy - Hats

As we embrace the warmer weather of Term Four, we kindly remind you of our commitment to sun safety. All students are required to wear hats when playing outside. This simple yet essential measure helps protect our children from harmful sun exposure and ensures a safe and enjoyable outdoor experience. Please ensure your child comes to school with a hat every single day this term.

Planning for 2024

The leadership team is now working on 2024 planning, class structures, and the staffing recruitment process. To help us plan for 2024, we ask that parents let us know as soon as possible if their child/ren won't be attending our school next year. To inform us, kindly call the school office at 8366 7700.

Class Formations for 2024

Class formation is a complex process which is carefully curated throughout Term Four by our leadership team and current staff.  When creating classes and allocating students, teachers pay consideration to a balance of factors including gender balance of male/female, academic ability, behaviour, students in receipt of additional funding for disabilities, and students with a diagnosis or medical issues.

Teachers will work in Collaborative Teams during Term Four of this year, to allocate students to 2024 classes. To allow for student voice in this process, students have completed a “Friendship Circle” of students they work well with and would like to be placed with for the following year. Our teachers supported our students through this process by discussing the task, prior to students completing their circle of friends, focus on selecting students who they work well with and not necessarily ‘play friends’. We endeavour to place students with at least one member of their friendship circle when creating classes.

Three Way Students Led Conferences - Thank You

We wish to extend a huge thank you to all our families for attending the Student Led conference day in week 2. We appreciate your support with the scheduling of the day and the requirement of the early dismissal to enable these conferences to operate. From all accounts, it was a wonderful opportunity for children to present their learning and achievements to their families, to celebrate their learning, and to strengthen our home school relationships.

Student end of year reports will be published to families via Xuno on Wednesday 13th December 2023.

Secondary Parent Information Sessions

The Secondary School Parent Information Sessions are designed to provide you with valuable insights into the intricate structures and the vibrant tapestry of secondary school life that await your children. We understand that this transition can be both exciting and daunting, not just for your children but for you as parents as well. Our aim for these sessions is to bridge the gap between the unknown and the familiar, guiding you through the various facets of our school's environment, curriculum, and extracurricular activities. We believe that informed parents are crucial partners in their child's educational journey, and by the end of this evening, we hope you'll feel empowered with the knowledge and understanding necessary to support and encourage your child during their secondary school years.  Together, we'll navigate the pathways of academic challenges, social growth, and personal development, ensuring a fruitful and enriching experience for your child in our school community.
