Roald Dahl Day
Today, in celebration of Roald Dahl Day, we held a poll where students and staff voted for their favourite Roald Dahl book. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was the clear winner, followed by Matilda.
Year 2SH explored Dahl’s poem ‘The Crocodile’ and then made some 'Crocky Wocks' of their own!
Did you know?
- Roald Dahl never learned to type and always wrote in pencil on yellow paper.
- He was a fighter pilot during World War II.
- He wrote all his children’s stories in a small hut at the bottom of his garden!
Mid-Autumn Festival
As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, our wonderful Chinese community have created an amazing display in the Library, resplendent with lanterns and mooncakes. We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a happy Mid-Autumn Festival.
Holiday activities
For all Dog Man fans, don’t forget Dog Man the Musical is playing at the Athenaeum Theatre over the holidays! Also, Runt, by Craig Silvey (renowned author of Jasper Jones), has been adapted into a film and will hit cinemas on 19 September. This Australian classic is a must-watch—I absolutely loved the book and can’t wait to see the movie!
