Introduction to the Middle School

Hello from the Middle School team!

The Middle School Team are passionate about student voice and agency and working with the Year 9 & 10 cohort at their social and academic development through the Northcote Model.

Term 1 Connect Overview:

Year 9s focus this term on learning about positive strategies to manage stress, emotions, conflict and build resilience. During the year they will participate in Inter-cultural excursions – learning about different cultures and belief systems with their peers, careers education including individual careers advice and guidance through the Morrisby Program, Course Counselling and the Respectful Relationships Program.

Year 10s focus this term on preparing for Work Experience which can be scheduled throughout the year. Students will be guided through the process by their Tutors. All relevant forms and advice can also be found on Compass and Teams. Students will also participate in Careers Day on Monday 18th March where they will elect to hear from different presenters from a range of careers talk about their journeys. This will also include an expo of tertiary and industry representatives in the afternoon. During the year students will also participate in the Real Industry Jobs Program, Course Counselling and the Respectful Relationships Program.
