From the

Assistant Principal

Dear Parents / Carers,

It is with great excitement that I welcome the families of Rowville Primary School to the 2024 school year as the new Assistant Principal. I am incredibly honoured to join our current Assistant Principal, Mrs Bamford, and our Principal, Ms Babich, on our whole school Leadership Team. I have had the privilege of working and learning alongside these leaders for many years and have learnt so much from them both.

In my role, I will be a full-time teaching Assistant Principal, working in the Foundation classroom. I will also have an office facing our beautiful new sensory garden to meet with families and engage in whole school work.

I have been a part of the Rowville Primary School teaching community for the past seventeen years. Over this time, it has been a pleasure to get to know the students and families of Rowville Primary School. It brings me great joy to see our Foundation students blossom into confident, curious and creative lifelong learners and leaders. It is with pride that I watch our Year Six students graduate each year.

As an educator, I am passionate about building thriving and supportive learning communities; in individual classrooms, across the school, and with the wider community. I am thrilled to be working with students and families across our school this year and continuing to build these positive partnerships.

On Thursday 15 February we will be holding our annual Welcome to School Parent Information Evening. This evening is an opportunity for families to meet their child’s teacher and year level teaching team. During these sessions, our teachers will share the following with you:

  • Classroom routines and expectations for each year level
  • Year level curriculum - reading, writing, mathematics and How The World Works units
  • Homework expectations
  • Uniform and hats – SunSmart Policy
  • Important dates for the term and school year

The session times and venues are as follows:

5:30pm Foundation in the 21st Learning Space

5:45pm Year 3 in the BER

6:00pm Year 1 in the 21st Learning Space

6:15pm Year 4 in the BER

6:30pm Year 2 in the 21st Learning Space

6:45pm Year 5 in the BER

The canteen will be open to purchase drinks, icy poles and snacks and the school will also be running a sausage sizzle outside the canteen between 5.30-6.30pm. Our specialist teachers will supervise a range of co-operative and team games from 5:30-7:15pm.

All school entry gates will be open from 5:15pm.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Kind regards,
