Classroom Corner

We are pleased to be launching a new section in our newsletter this week, Classroom Corner.  Classroom Corner will provide highlights of learning activities, events and student work throughout the year.  We hope that you enjoy it!

Student Leader Badge Ceremony

Congratulations to all students who have been appointed to leadership roles this year!  We are very proud of this impressive group of young people who are showing an abundance of enthusiasm, initiative and dedication in their new roles.  They will have the opportunity to contribute to our school in positive ways throughout the year and are valuable role models.

Curriculum Information – Meet the Teacher Session

The Curriculum Information – Meet the Teacher Session held last Wednesday.  We appreciated parents and caregivers taking time to attend to ask questions and meet the teacher/s.

A free sausage sizzle was an additional highlight, thanks to the YMCA team (i.e. our onsite out of school care service).

2025 Prep Information Session and School Tour

This week, we held our Prep information session and school tours for the parents and carers of our 2025 Preps.  Once enrolment paperwork is submitted, families will be invited to the important events that are offered to help prepare for the commencement of Prep in 2025.  The first event for children is in just over 2 weeks, so we ask parents and carers to please enrol your 2025 Prep children before then so they don’t miss any of the activities.

Prep Teddy Bear Picnic

Our Preps enjoyed their Teddy Bear Picnic this week as one of the many highlights within their first year of school.  Here are some photos from the event:

NAPLAN

The NAPLAN (National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy) for Year 3 & 5 students will run throughout weeks 8 and 9 of Term 1.  Our approach is to encourage our students to complete NAPLAN in the same way as all other assessment, and that is with the emphasis being on trying their best.

Information about NAPLAN has been provided to parents and carers of Year 3 and Year 5 students via ClassDojo.

Active School Travel

The Active School Travel program, in partnership with the Gold Coast City Council, launched for the year with a wonderful before school breakfast last Friday.  It was a lovely community morning with students, families and staff.

Our Active School Travel breakfasts are possible due to the generous support of Gold Coast City Council, Tallebudgera Lions Club, Bakers Delight, 19th Avenue Woolworths.

Thank you to our Active School Travel committee and Team Tally volunteers for organising and running the event.

Chappy Steph's Wellbeing Workshop

Our Chaplain, Chappy Steph, is a friendly face and ear in our school and does excellent work supporting students.    Students enjoy visiting Chappy Steph to do activities in her Wellbeing Workshop at break times.
