Around the Classrooms

Year  3/4 Swimming at our new Swim Centre - Aqua Starr

The Year 1 and 2 students in 1/2L are very excited to be back at school and ready for a fun-filled year together!

As it is the start of the year, we have been practising our classroom routines and how we can show our PBL value of Respect in and around our learning environment.

Our morning routine looks like this:

  1. We greet our teacher and friends as we enter the classroom
  2. We place our bag in our bag locker
  3. We place our drink bottle near the sink
  4. We put our pencil case on our table
  5. We then select a book to read or draw a picture

We began the year getting to know each other, by discussing our favourite things and what we did on the holidays. We also got to know our class pet - a stick insect called Sticky Sticks.

In Maths, we began our topic of Counting and Place Value by playing a game called 3 in a Row. We grabbed dice, measuring tape, paper clips and a partner of course. To play you roll the dice to create a number and place your coloured paper clip on that number, taking turns with your partner. The first person to get three of their coloured paper clips in a row is the winner.

The students in 1/2L are already experts!

We are looking forward to our jam-packed term ahead and making the most of all our learning opportunities.
