 Performing Arts

In our Performing Arts classroom, we are having an exciting time exploring different ways to express ourselves! The Preps are learning to use their voices, bodies, and facial expressions to show six different emotions: disgust, anger, happiness, fear, surprise, and sadness. They are having fun practicing how to express these feelings!

The Grade 1 and 2 students are diving into celebrations from around the world. They are discovering how cultures celebrate through dance, drama, and music. Some of the celebrations we’re looking at include Holi, Ramadan, Hanukkah, Easter, birthdays, and Chinese New Year.

For Grades 3 and 4, we are focusing on how Indigenous Australians use stories, music, and dance to share their culture and traditions. Finally, Grades 5 and 6 are exploring Asian cultures, learning how they use music, dance, and drama to communicate. They will compare the similarities and differences between Indigenous and Asian cultures in these art forms. It’s a wonderful journey of creativity and connection!
