Good Standing and Living with Neurodiversity

It has been wonderful to have the building full of students again. As we progress into 2025, I would like to also welcome all our families, those returning and those who are new to St George’s, to the new term.

This year we have launched our Good Standing Document. This sets out for each student the agreed minimum standards we require of them while at school. The GSD contains eight points, see below, that are a basic expectation of any student. Maintaining “Good Standing” is now the focus of our behaviour management at St George’s and, as always, it will be best supported when we all work to support these values.

I would also like to advertise our guest speakers for this year. We hold an event each term as part of our “Parent Guest Speaker” series. This is a chance to hear, and ask questions of, people who have expertise in a wide variety of areas that impact on young people’s lives in general. The idea is to gain information and discuss topics that are currently at the fore front of adolescence.

As always my door is always open for students and families, my office on Level 1 is adjacent to the Pastoral Lounge and I am here to help. I look forward to a terrific year ahead.
