The 2025 music performance calendar commenced in the best way possible with our Electrocity Ensemble performing to sold out audiences at The Actors Hub as part of the annual Perth Fringe Festival. This amazing group of students write and record their own original pieces, producing a whole album of songs in the process! Huge congratulations to Blake, Allison, Zara, Lawson, Alec, Harvey, Lua, Phoebe, Jade, Indi, and Mr Michael Newton for two wonderful nights of music. Thanks also to St George's Electrocity alumni who brought magic to the stage. We now wish Mr Newton the most wonderful time on his long service leave as he travels the globe! He has promised postcards which we will share to keep in touch with his travels.
Instrumental Music Lessons are now underway at St George’s, and we welcome two new tutors to our team – Mr Gianni Petta (clarinet/saxophone) and Jhana Lausevic (flute). Basement Music is now once again filled with the sounds of our dedicated and talented music students – I know we have some superstars in the making. We also welcome Ms Tia Scott to the classroom teaching team. Ms Scott is a saxophonist and has most recently taught classroom music at Carine SHS. We are excited to have her as part of the St George’s Music team.
All Co-Curricular Bands and Ensembles have started rehearsing this week. From rock bands and choirs to string and concert band groups, there is something for all music tastes and skills. Any Muso needing support or help should contact Mrs Taylor or Ms Scott via SEQTA or in the Level 2 Staff Office. .
