We are seeking student volunteers to represent the school as flag bearers at the upcoming Commonwealth Day Multi Faith Service at St George’s Cathedral.
This special event will take place on Sunday March 16 at 5:00 pm and is a fantastic opportunity to take part in a meaningful tradition. It will involve several special dignitaries including His Excellency the Governor, the Archbishop of Perth and the Lord Mayor of Perth. It will be a chance to showcase our school in a very special service and Mrs Campbell, our School Principal will be in attendance at the request of the Cathedral.
As a flag bearer, you will carry one of the 57 Commonwealth flags in to and out of the Cathedral. This role can count towards volunteer service to the community hours and will also very excitedly earn you a House Token to go towards the House Cup.
If you are interested in participating or would like to find out more, please see Ms Yoxall as soon as possible pr, parents, email syoxall@stgeorges.wa.edu.au.
We’d love there to be representatives across all year groups and look forward to seeing our students proudly representing the school at this event! Join up, you’ll LOVE it!
We are excited to announce that our school will be hosting the World’s Greatest Shave on Friday, March 14 (Week 7 of Term 1)! This fantastic event raises funds for the Leukemia Foundation to support blood cancer patients and their families.
Our students and staff are gearing up to make this event a huge success, with a fundraising goal of over $11,000. Some brave teachers are already committed to shaving, cutting, or shedding their moustaches to inspire donations, and students are encouraged to join in too! Please see Ms Yoxall if you would like to sign up to have 20cm cut off or your head shaved!
How You Can Get Involved:
Donate: Look out for posters around the school with QR codes to contribute directly to our campaign.
Volunteer: If you’re a parent or guardian with hairdressing skills and would like to assist with shaving or cutting on the day, we’d love your help! Please reach out to syoxall@stgeorges.wa.edu.au
Support Fundraising Efforts: Students are welcome to start their own fundraising campaign outside of school. Feel free to share these with your family, friends and workplaces!
Thank you for your support in making our World’s Greatest Shave a meaningful and memorable event. Together, we can help make a difference in the lives of those affected by blood cancer.
