Year 8 Homegroup Competition
This week our Year 8’s completed their Homegroup Competition. They each competed in ‘The Respect Quest’, where students were asked to complete acts of kindness and demonstrate respect to their peers, teachers and school environment.
We saw our students going above and beyond to complete their tasks and have peers witness their acts. We even had some feedback from staff and Ms Wallis saying the conversations and letters from the students that have been received have been a highlight of their week and made them feel valued in their job. We have seen students thrive with this challenge and hope they continue their respectful behaviours as they year goes on. Well done to 8S and 8C who returned their sheet all completed to us by the middle of the week, they will be receiving bonus points for being so diligent.
Year 8 Challenge Week
Week 6 is our annual Challenge Week for Year 8 students. Challenge Week is a popular event on and is an opportunity for students to build on their skills and grow as people through Challenging themselves. Our Year 8 theme this year is challenge, and we expect all our Year 8’s to attend.
Information about Challenge Week is available on the Compass Event. We have encouraged all students to have a conversation with their parents about payment and consent. There is also a waiver form attached to the Event for the Tree Top Adventure activity that must be printed, signed and returned to Middle School by Friday 28 February. A reminder that payment and consent is for all activities for the week, this is not an opt in week. Students are expected to participate in all activities for the week and if they are not attending at all, will be required to attend the at school program.
As an extra incentive, we have told the students that the first class who has all students pay, consent and return their waiver forms will receive a bonus 40 points in our Homegroup competition, putting them one step closer to a pizza lunch at the end of term.
