News from the

Library

The Library staff have been loving the start of Term 1. There is a great energy in the Library with lots of great conversations about books, lots of borrowing, and many students taking advantage of our book recommendation system. It has been a wonderful start to the year!

Library Lovers Day

Library Lovers Day is celebrated internationally each year on February 14. It is a day to honour libraries, librarians, and library lovers, and to think about the valuable roles that libraries play in our lives. Students and staff were invited to come to the Library, grab a sticky note, and write a note telling us what they love about their Library. Here is a sample of the responses:

  • Love the great books.

  • It creates a calm working space for students who need it, with friendly staff.

  • The library staff are always so considerate and helpful.

  • I like the library because it has my favourite manga for free.

  • I love how it’s a great place to hang out at lunch and has lots of books.

  • As a Hums and Eng teacher, I am so lucky that every day I get to walk through our beautiful library surrounded by a truly fantastic selection! Get reading!

  • Allows me to read the books I want to read without having to buy them myself. Plus, the staff are lovely.

  • I love my library because they have games and books that I like and the staff are so nice.
