Note on Italian learning integrated with our Kitchen Garden Program
Weaving Italian learning and our Kitchen Garden program is an incredibly exciting and engaging approach to learning for our Year 3-6 students. Throughout the year, our learners will develop their Italian non-verbal, spoken and written communication skills with an emphasis on Kitchen and Garden-related experiences, such as exploring, creating and enjoying delicious Italian dishes! Our program will explore Italian culture and cuisine from an experiential approach, working independently and collaboratively to use the language in our Kitchen Garden classes. Our learning intentions through this integrated program is to nurture open-minded inquirers and communicators. We hope to hold space for risk-taking and confidence building as our students engage in spoken and written activities that expand their understanding of language, culture and identity.
Looking forward to the year of language learning and Kitchen Garden growth ahead.
Grazie mille,
Lucy Ballard

SAKG Announcement
Dear FNPS,
We are extremely excited to be kicking off cooking classes in the Kitchen Garden program this week! Starting Wednesday, classes will be making, baking, creating delicious Italian dishes in our SAKG kitchen with a specialty dish to learn about and celebrate il Carnevale di Venezia!
Reminder to all parents and carers to please complete, sign and return your child’s SAKG permission slip and allergy form. Without this form, students will not be permitted to participate in Kitchen Garden classes. Additionally, please be sure to wear closed toed shoes on your Kitchen and Garden day.
Anyone available to volunteer is more than welcome to sign up on the Google Spreadsheet. However, you must have a valid WWCC, completed your FNPS Confidentiality training and signed our 2025 FNPS form which is available at the office.
Please complete these and return these documents to Emily at the office.
Looking forward to our first week of cooking in the Kitchen!
