Years F & 1

This week we have been working hard on remembering what a noun is giving examples and learning what a verb is. We have been using pictures to help us identify the verb and using the book we read to practice as well. We then focused on writing one sentence at a time talking about what we did on the weekend or the night before. The students have orally shared the sentence before writing and it has been fantastic to see the students completing and writing full sentences. We have continued doing great work on our sounds and counting and it’s been great watching the students give all tasks a go and becoming more confident. 

In Science this week we had some making ramps for a tennis ball to go down to see how far it would push the car. It was great fun and they were all so impressed with how far their car traveled or making adjustments to make their car travel further. In Art this week the students followed instructions and we created a beetle. We were aiming for the beetle to be symmetrical and the students did well. They were excited to use fancy pens to trace over the lines.
