2024 Swimming Carnival

St Edward’s Swimming Carnival was a fun-filled event for everyone able to attend. It was a very hot day, however everyone who participated gave it their all and made the atmosphere electric. Overall the day was a success with lots of happy faces and 15 of our students qualifying for Diocesan being held on Friday 1st March in Gunnedah. A huge thank you to all parent helpers and teachers for their continued support at carnivals such as this, without your support our carnivals would not be as successful as they are. 

Good luck to the following students who will be travelling to Gunnedah on Friday 1st March to participate at the Diocesan Carnival: Emmerson McMahon, Lottie Smith, Ashton Jeffrey, Eliza Hynes, Kiarnee Smith, Isaac Heywood, Zac Robinson, Charlotte Steel, Lilly Aworth, Theo Androutsos, Andreas Androutsos, Madeline Noad, Ella Callcott, Eddie Whale & Flynn Barrett.

Netball

St Edward’s Netball Registrations are now OPEN. 

REGISTRATIONS CLOSE NEXT FRIDAY 1st MARCH, 2024

All new netball uniforms can be found on the Compass app in the Canteen menu. 

There are a small number of second hand uniforms available from the Primary Canteen for $20. 

Training is decided by coaches. All training is at St Edward’s Primary School straight after school, Infants’ children can catch the bus.

Games will start in early May. 

All games are played inside, or on the outside courts at the Tamworth Sports Dome. 

Games for children aged 10 and under are usually played at 12pm.*

Games for children aged 11 and over are usually at 1pm.*

2024 Basketball Competition

Primary aged students only. Aussie Hoops will be available for Infants students. Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for this information.

NO GAMES THIS WEEK DUE TO LACK OF REGISTRATIONS. GAMES WILL COMMENCE ON THURSDAY 29TH FEBRUARY!

 Only teams with 7 or more players registered will be able to take the court. Any team that does not have 7 players registered will have a bye that week.

Please keep a lookout for these in your cupboards, school bags, dirty clothes baskets, even under beds. We are still missing a considerable amount of shirts which will be required to be handed back in this term.

Netball and Basketball Uniforms

You are able to order both the St Edward's Netball and St Edward's Basketball uniform by using the Compass app.

HOW TO ORDER:

1.Click on the compass app

2. Select more (bottom right corner)

3. Select canteen

4. Select child

5. Select day (tomorrow's date)

6. Select uniform menu

Simply select size and the uniform will be handed to your child at school the day selected. Please keep all tags on until you are happy with the size after trying on to allow a simple exchange at the primary canteen. 

If your child is in Year 6 and does not have a sibling to hand their netball/basketball uniform to, could you consider donating or selling your uniform through the school? We are always looking for second hand uniforms for our new families and new students to the sport.  Please see Mrs Bridge in the Canteen for more information around this.

Netball Coaching Course

Scone Netball Association is scheduled to hold a development coaching course on 25th February. We are 5 places short for this course to run!

If you are interested in completing the course, registrations close on Monday. To register for these courses, you must have completed the Development Coach Online Course.

Armidale Diocesan Primary Sports Council

The Armidale Diocesan Primary Sports Council is a body representative of the Catholic Education Office, Principals and Sports Coordinators from all Diocesan Primary Schools. The ADPSC offers a pathway for Armidale Diocesan students in most sports.
