Welcome New Staff!

This Term we were excited to welcome a number of new staff to our College community!

Our Learning Support team grew with the arrival of Ms Maia Gambino, Ms Hannah McDowall and Ms Georgia Santucci.

We also welcomed our new Indigenous Liaison Officer, Ms Crisha Barney.

Meet some of our new staff below!

Ms Crisha Barney | Indigenous Liaison Officer

We are happy to welcome Crisha Barney, our new Indigenous Liaison Officer!

Crisha has had a busy start to her new role, and says she has had a great start at St Stephen's with the staff and students making her feel welcome.

Supporting First Nations students and helping them to improve their learning abilities, culturally and academically has been a big focus for Crisha, and she is looking forward to maintaining our relationships between our First Nations community, students, families and staff.  She is also looking forward to keeping the respect and culture alive within the College and building competencies for all staff and students.

Welcome, Crisha!

Ms Maia Gambino | Learning Support Officer

Maia is an alumna of St Stephen's, graduating in 2020! Maia explains that it has been

wonderful to return to the school to support student learning as an LSO, and she is thoroughly enjoying her new role.

As a past student, it has felt like a 'welcome back'. It has been wonderful to reconnect with past teachers, as well as get to know any new staff in the school.

Maia is enjoying the opportunity to assist students to succeed in daily classroom learning, as well as exams and assignments, saying;

It is so rewarding to see our students work diligently to achieve highly, proving that the hard work certainly does pay off!

This year Maia is most looking forward to being involved in school activities such as Sports Day and Community Days, where the focus is on building relationships and having lots of fun.

Ms Hannah McDowall | Learning Support Officer

We are pleased to also welcome Hannah McDowall to the College. Hannah says,

My start at St. Stephen's has been fantastic, students and staff have been so welcoming this week. I'm really enjoying getting to know the school community.

Hannah explains that she enjoys being able to interact with students and support them in their academic and personal growth. This year Hannah looks forward to seeing the students excel in their studies and witnessing their achievements both inside and outside the classroom.
