Student Residential Address and Other Information Collection 2024

Please find below a notice from the Australian Government Department of Education regarding information we are required to provide to them that helps determine the calculations for financial assistance that the school receives. The attached document provides information as to how the data is collected, used and protected.

Can you please ensure that we have the correct address information on our records. Please email admin@scc.tas.edu.au if you would like to confirm what we have on file.

Athletics Carnival - Year 3-12

This year the Athletics Carnival will be held at the Queens Domain Athletics Centre next Tuesday 5 March and is a Primary and Secondary (Year 3-12) carnival. Students should wear their PE uniform but are encouraged to wear their house colours and to show team spirit. (No singlets, crop top, spaghetti straps, running leggings or short shorts.)

Students will require hats, sunscreen, packed lunch, snacks and drink bottles!

Secondary students will do their track events first while the Primary students are participating in field and novelty events. Then they will swap.

Students are encouraged to have a go and to step out of their comfort zone. Skills that have been practiced during physical education are showcased and further developed on the day.

Students will travel by bus departing SCC at 9am and will return in the afternoon, departing the Domain at 2pm.

First Steps into Learning

First steps is back on every Friday from 9:30-11am. The older children enjoy visiting the Kinder classroom and playground, and exploring a space which has a bit more challenge for the 3-4 year olds. Meanwhile, downstairs at KELC, the younger children (0-2 year olds) have the centre to themselves, to explore and play, and visitors with littler children are welcome to join us in this space.

Connections Café Canteen (Repeat)

Canteen will be held on Friday 1 March, and ordering through the Qkr! app is now open. This month we are having a sausage sizzle with a smartie cookie and a drink for canteen. Junior school lunches will be collected by students nominated by the teacher. 

Please note: Year 7 to 9 students will be on camp. Please do not order for students in Year 7, 8 or 9.

Ordering lunch is through the Qkr! app, and the cutoff time for ordering is 6pm on Wednesday 28 February. See the Canteen page of last week's newsletter for more information.

Connections Café

The Connections Café is located in the area outside the Auditorium. Enter through the automatic double doors, to the left of the main entry to the College.

Label Everything - TWICE!

Please make sure your child's uniform and belongings are clearly labelled (TWICE) and that they have not picked up another child's jacket, jumper or hat.

There are many options for labelling such as using a laundry/Sharpie marker pen (available in supermarkets) or iron-on, sew-on labels and stickers which can be ordered online - e.g. Name It -  https://www.nameitlabels.com.au/view-all/

Primary Assembly

There will not be a Primary Assembly next week due to the Athletics Carnival.
