Worm Farm Incursion
On Tuesday 12th March we had an incursion for the Grade 2's. We learned about Worm Farms!
We learned how landfill is smelly because of all the food scraps decomposing. We learned that if we save our food scraps and place them in a worm farm we can get the castings and juice to help our gardens as a by-product.
We looked at the structure of a worm farm from the top down & how they had a:
-lid (to protect the worms)
-kitchen (where we place the food scraps and the worms eat)
-bedroom (where the worms rest)
-bathroom (where the worms castings and juices collect).
We even got to hold a worm each!
We are looking forward to receiving some Worm Farms at PVNPS from a grant Mr Gagliardi was successful in applying for - Thank you Mr G! 😊
