Over the past few weeks, students in Grade 1 have been learning to navigate non-fiction texts as readers by using features including the contents page, glossary, photographs, captions, diagrams and maps. They have also learned to craft non-fiction texts as writers by writing questions and statements about animals we have studied.
This week, students have edited and published their information reports, using their best handwriting and including an illustration of their chosen animal to add visual information for their audience. Please enjoy the selection of information reports from students in 1A, 1B and 1C shown below:
