YEAR SIX UNIFORM!

Last week, the year six students received an anticipated parcel... The arrival of this years year 6 tops and jumpers! YAY! As always, the design picked by the students and colours make the tops look awesome!

Please know, in the past we have had the writing peel on the odd one or two uniforms. If this does happen, please communicate this to any of the 5/6 teachers and we will contact the company.

Lastly, we have had a number of students ask if they can order more of the year 6 uniform. Mrs Lytton has met with the company representative and he has very kindly agreed to reopen the shop for a brief period between Monday 25 March- April 15. If you would like to order more shirts or jumpers or had not previously ordered one you will be able to from next week.

How we Celebrated Harmony Day!

This Wednesday, students explore and discussed 'Harmony Day' (see the questions below to see some of the things we learnt about). Once students understood more about Harmony Day, they were asked to think about what ‘Harmony Day’ means to them. Then, using a template, design a logo to create a display that represents their (5/6 cohort)  Harmony Day.

WANT TO SEE OUR LOGOS?

They will be displayed in Miss Ansons classroom window.

What is Harmony Week?

It is a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism, and the successful integration of migrants into our community. Australia is one of the most successful multicultural countries in the world and we should celebrate this and work to maintain it.

Harmony Week is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.

Why Orange?

Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Week. Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect. Australians can choose to wear something orange during Harmony Week to show their support for cultural diversity and an inclusive Australia.
