Art

Our Prep artists are busy learning how to use the art room and developing a more in depth understanding of colour. They will soon be beginning a series of portraits using oil pastels as their medium.

Grade 1/2 learners have been busy paper-maching masks inspired by Belgium creative duo Park Pardon. Their bases have been created using newspaper and a mixture of flour and water and are set to be painted. Watch this space!

Grade 3/4 students have been exploring storytelling cloths or ‘Chirehs’ from Afghanistan. They have all created their own work inspired by Abdullah Haji Wakil Zadeh and their families collection of work. Work showcase of artworks in progress by Lily and Ella of 3/4S and Alexis of 3/4P.

Grade 5/6 have been looking locally at Australian artist Howard Arkley and exploring his use of colour to reinterpret suburban landscapes. Showcase of the incredible artworks in progress by Ryder and Addison 5/6V.
