Year 12 Food Studies students individually produced a Chicken Noodle Salad. Students then analysed their chicken noodle salad using the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating. Students discussed whether this recipe is suitable to serve at home for children and families.

- Electric Hand or Stand Mixer
Ingredients
- 4 Eggs
- 1 Cup Sugar
- Zest of 2 Lemons or Oranges
- 1 3/4 Cups Flour
- 1 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
- 3/4 Cup Olive Oil
- 7 Tbs Melted Butter
- 3 Tbs Milk
- 2Tb lemon juice Icing: 1 C icing sugar & Juice of 1 lemon
- Icing sugar to garnish
Instructions
- Wash hands, put on apron and turn on oven to 170.c
- Butter a 10 inch cake pan, dust with flour, and line with parchment paper on the bottom
- In a bowl sift together the flour and baking powder
- In a second bowl whisk together olive oil, melted butter, lemon juice and milk
- In a third bowl combine eggs, sugar, and zest
- Beat eggs, sugar, and zest with an electric mixer until light yellow and creamy, about 3-5 minutes
- Alternate adding the olive oil mixture and the flour mixture into the eggs a scoop at a time and all incorporated
- Pour batter into the pan and bake for 30 to 40 minutes (but keep checking it)
- Let cool, then dust with powdered sugar and garnish with a sprig of rosemary.
