Starting this week, Year 7, 8 and 9 students have been completing our survey about their reading and book preferences during their fortnightly library reading sessions. This data will help us tailor book selections to individual students and provide us with useful information for future book purchases. Students were also introduced to the annual Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge which was launched by the Department of Education last week. They can start recording the books they have read since March 1 at https://vprc.eduweb.vic.gov.au/home by using their school email address @schools.vic.edu.au and password. More details to follow in the next newsletter and on the Compass news feed. Also, keep an eye out for our Reader Board where we will keep a visual tally of our readers and the books they have been reading. As we all know, reading has lots of academic benefits as it helps to improve our writing and does wonders for developing creativity. We hope that through these initiatives, our young people will read more and be inspired to learn more about the world around them and the human condition.
