Dear Parents / Carers,
It has been a fortnight of sport here at Rowville Primary School!
On Friday 23 February, twenty-seven students competed at the District Swimming competition. Our students showed excellent teamwork all day, supporting each other and representing our school with pride. Congratulations to all students, but a special congratulations to the following students who represented our school at the Division Swimming competition on Friday 8 March.
Dominic 5A – 50m freestyle and 50m breaststroke, Mabel 4B – 50m backstroke, Jasmin 6B - 50m freestyle and 50m breaststroke, Harry 6B – 50m butterfly, Thomas 5C – 50m butterfly, Hunter 4C – 50m backstroke, Chloe 6A – 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly, Dominic 5A, Hunter 4C, Reuben 3A and Eddie 3B – 4 x 50m freestyle relay.
Congratulations also go out to all our Year Three - Six students on a wonderful House Athletics Carnival on Wednesday 6 March. I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge each of you for being amazing sportspeople and trying your best in every event.
Our House Athletics Carnival was an opportunity for our students to showcase their sporting talents. But it was about even more than that. What was most impressive was the demonstration of our school values. Our students cheered each other on, celebrating other’s success and showing that being a good sport is just as important as winning.
I wanted to thank all our staff and parent volunteers who helped to make the day such a success for our students. Their support and encouragement helped every student to do their best.
Our Rowville Primary School Athletics team will be finalised over the coming weeks in preparation for District Athletics on Wednesday 1 May. We wish all athletes selected in the team the very best of luck as they progress to district competition.
Kind regards,
Shae White
