5/6 Summer Gala Day

On Thursday, 6th November our grade 5/6’s took part in the interschool sports Gala Day. Our newcomb, rounders and tchoukball participants played at Edinburgh Gardens, while our basketballers ventured off to MSAC. It was once again a very successful day for Fitzroy North!

Our students played 4-5 games and did our school proud both on and off the field with their behaviours and actions. 

Our rounders teams made the semi final and finished 3rd overall taking that game out in a tight one 5-4.

The basketball division 1 mixed team played a thrilling final winning in overtime thanks to 2 late game free throws from Daniel E. 

Our division 2 tchoukball team finished 3rd overall, and our division 1 tchoukball team remained undefeated throughout the tournament and took out the premiership.

Both our newcomb teams qualified for the grand final and in an epic 3 set final, team 1 narrowly defeated team 2.

In cricket, unfortunately they ran out of time for a grand final, but our division 1 team were undefeated in the tournament and had the best percentage, therefore earning another flag for the Fitzroy North trophy cabinet.

Congratulations to all our participants, coaches and parents who came to support, you all made it a fantastic Gala Day!
