Principal Team's Message

Nurture.  Innovate.  Celebrate.

Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families,

Thank you - Working Bee

A heartfelt thank you to all the adults and students who joined our Working Bee last Sunday.

Despite the poor weather, we had a fantastic turnout and achieved a great deal together. I am especially grateful to everyone who gave their time and effort to help prepare our school grounds for the upcoming Fete. A special mention goes to Raelene Anderson for her wonderful organisation and for providing the much appreciated snacks.

Thanks to the hard work and community spirit of our volunteers, we were able to complete most of the planned tasks. It was a terrific team effort all round.

✨ Student Spotlight – Wonderful Citizens of Maramba✨

We had a keen bunch of students attend our Working Bee despite the bad weather and help out in keeping our school clean.

Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and community spirit truly shone through as they rolled up their sleeves and got the job done which involved washing down all the benches, sweeping the walkways, picking up rubbish and pulling out weeds. Also a special mention to Mr Tolliday's children, Henry and Mackenzie, who helped clean up the sensory space adjacent to the STEAM studio. Another group of students came the day before the Working Bee to do some weeding in the amphitheatre. Well done Xavier, Sophie, Bianca, Ollie and Leo.

A big thank you to these amazing students for showing pride in our school and setting such a positive example for others. 🌟👏

2026 Transition Information

Statewide Transition  Day will be be held on Tuesday December 9th from 9am -

3pm. Students in Years 1-6 in 2026 will meet their 2026 teacher and class on this day.  Statewide Transition Day is an important opportunity for students to experience their new classroom environment, meet their teacher, and connect with classmates for the upcoming year. It helps ease any anxieties, builds confidence, and supports a smooth and positive start to the new school year.

To help prepare for the upcoming Statewide Transition Day, students will participate in two transition sessions: one in Week 8 and another in Week 9. During these 50-minute sessions, students will work with their 2026 cohort, giving teachers the opportunity to gather valuable insights to support class placements. Please note that the teacher and classmates your child works with during these sessions may not reflect their final 2026 class allocation.

Excursion Update

Excursions provide valuable hands-on learning experiences that extend classroom lessons into the real world. They help our students build curiosity, confidence, and social skills while deepening their understanding of the topics they explore in the classroom. This term we have had two excursions across the school.

Year 5/6- Parliament House

On Wednesday, October 22nd, our Year 5 and 6 students visited the Parliament of Victoria in Melbourne, where they participated in a guided educational tour.

During the visit:

  • Students explored the historic Parliament House, including the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council chambers.
  •  Students learned about the roles of Members of Parliament, how debates are conducted, and how decisions are made that shape our state.

This engaging experience supported their Civics and Citizenship learning and deepened their understanding of democracy in action. A big thank you to the staff and parent helpers who supported this valuable learning opportunity!

On Wednesday, October 29th, our Year 4 students visited the Melbourne Botanical Gardens in the CBD. During The Rainforest program, they explored a variety of plant life and learned about different climates both within Australia and around the world. The students thoroughly enjoyed exploring the gardens and discovering the diverse range of flora.

This hands-on experience supported their Geography learning and allowed students to experience a range of natural environments firsthand, deepening their understanding of ecosystems, habitats, and the importance of environmental conservation.

A big thank you to the staff who attended and supported this wonderful learning experience.
