College Master Planning Update
Our College continues to move forward with a number of exciting projects as part of our long-term master plan, which is aligned with our Strategic Plan. Work on the new Desailly Street restaurant and upgraded teaching kitchen is progressing well, and the redevelopment of the Administration Building began last week — an exciting milestone for our community. Planning for the next stage of the St Patrick’s redevelopment is also taking shape, ensuring our facilities continue to grow alongside our school community. In the months ahead, we’ll be working closely with specialist consultants and architects to guide the next phase of our planning, ensuring our spaces continue to support vibrant learning and strong community connections for all students.
Here’s what you need to know during this time:
- Visitor Car Park & Charism Garden: Temporarily closed for builder parking and demolition access.
- Pedestrian Access: The Sister Elizabeth Gate and Main Entrance Gate will remain open for students and visitors.
- Reception Relocation: Reception has temporarily moved to the Allman Centre (Student Services).
Updates to the 2026 School Year: Mid-Year Break and Timetable Enhancements
At Catholic College Sale, we are committed to providing students with a rich and holistic education, including camps, retreats, sporting events, and information evenings. To support these experiences while maintaining uninterrupted learning, we are introducing a three-week mid-year break in July 2026.
- Two weeks of school holidays: Monday 29 June — Friday 10 July
- One week of staff TIL break: Monday 13 July — Friday 17 July
- Term 3 commencement: Monday 20 July 2026
In addition, the 2026 timetable has been enhanced to provide even more learning opportunities:
- Years 11 & 12: VCE/VM subjects will increase from 7 to 8 contact periods per fortnight.
- Years 7 to 10: Core subjects will increase from 6 to 7 contact periods per fortnight.
These changes offer more face-to-face learning than in 2025 and build resilience against disruptions such as illness or school events. We believe this structure strikes the right balance between respecting staff commitments and safeguarding the exceptional opportunities and strong academic results you expect for your child.
An email with more information has been sent to all current families in Years 7–11.
Thank you for your ongoing support as we work together to deliver the very best for our students.
