Child Safeguarding

At St Joseph's, we are committed to creating and maintaining a safe environment for children and young people, adhering to the Child Safe Standards and relevant legislation.

There are 11 Child Safe Standards - we will explore each one and how St Joseph's addresses the standards.

Victorian Child Safe Standard 10 focuses on the ongoing review and improvement of child safety practices. It requires organizations to regularly evaluate and enhance their child-safe strategies, policies, and procedures.

At St Joseph's we analyse complaints and incidents to identify areas needing improvements and report findings to relevant stakeholders. At the School Advisory Council we review the results of the School Engagement Survey that all parents are invited to complete in order to set priorities for the coming year.

Together, these practices strengthen our shared responsibility to ensure every child in our community is safe, valued, and supported.
