TPS Policies

BYOD Discontinuation
Recently the Department of Education updated their policy in relation to school's capacity to provide BYOD programs. It has been updated to require the following from schools;
- Commencing in 2027, schools with primary students:
- must not invite or allow families to purchase or bring their own student digital devices for primary students to use at school in Years F-6
- are recommended to design teaching and learning programs consistent with the following student digital device usage times:
- Years F-2: Minimal use other than learning about and with digital technologies as set out in the Victorian Curriculum 2.0
- Years 3-6: Maximum of 90 minutes per day.
Therefore, in consultation with School Council and teaching staff, it has been decided that we will align with this policy from next year. In 2026 students in year 4-6, that already bring a device to school, can continue to do so. For students in year 3, the school will provide required access to a device to ensure they can continue to access learning materials and the curriculum as needed.
Families with children entering year 3 in 2026 will not need to provide a digital device for their children at school.
