Before & After School Care

Weekly Highlights - Term 4 Week 6
Recycling Week
Welcome to our week 6 recap for Lalor East TheirCare. This week we had the opportunity to welcome two new children in our service and getting to know them and their families well.
It has been an amazing week as children continue their journey in looking after our two cats Lilly and Blackie. Each afternoon children feed the cats and making sure they always have water.
Part of this week was our recycling challenge week where children were able to use their imagination and create robots from recycling boxes.
It was also great to talk to our children about Remembrance day on the 11.11.25 and World Kindness Day on 13.11.25. To acknowledge those two important community events children made some poppies as we spoke about the meaning of those events while also making some colourful arts and positive messages to their peers.
Children always in our ASC session have a chance to explore indoors, outdoors or gym play space. This is where children are encouraged to participate in our planned experiences like Run for fun challenge, Ga Ga Ball, Soccer, Gymnastics, music and movements experiences like musical chairs, musical status and many more challenging fun experiences.
Lalor East TheirCare will be starting to work on Chrismas decorations and setting upnew spaces in our service, everyone is welcome to share ideas and help ou as the children will be busy with their art Christmas creations.
Weekly Highlights - Term 4 Week 7
Christmas is Coming
Welcome to our week 7 recap for Lalor East TheirCare. This week I have the pleasure to talk about how amazing our children have been working so hard to decorate our service for upcoming Christmas celebration. From making Christmas chains to setting up our Christmas tree and creating new decorations for the tree children were able to use their imagination and creative skill to explore art at our service.
Art exposes children to different cultures and traditions, broadening their understanding of the world. Through art, children can learn about various cultural practices and historical contexts, fostering a sense of appreciation and respect for diversity.
I also would like to highlight how caring and nurturing children have been during this week, after our afternoon tea and our group discussions we go around our school and feed our cats Blackie and Lilly. It is wonderful to hear how each and everyone of our children likes to feed the cats and look after, children come to TheirCare with ideas and suggestions on how often we need to feed our cats and what is good food, sometimes we also share our leftovers with our cats.
Weekly Highlights - Term 4 Week 8

It was great to be part of this open-ended conversations where children were able to share ideas and communicate with each other. During this week we also did Christmas decorations, Christmas Mailbox and children did make some special Christmas Cards.
Children were also able to choose indoor/outdoor, or gym play where we played GA GA, Musical Chairs, Dead Fish, Tag, Run for fun competition, Basketball and lots of other physical activities. Finally, we had a pleasure to teach one of our special families how to make our famous Veg Cheese Scrolls.
