ART

This week in art the students continued their work on Henri Matisse, this time looking at his famous cut-out collages.

The junior students used difference shaped pieces of colour paper to construct their own Matisse style collages, producing some amazing artwork!

The senior students also started work on their own larger collages, creating their own unique shapes and patterns.  There has been some amazing artwork made this week across all year levels

The art extension group continued to work on their deep sea drawings, this week adding watercolour backgrounds to their wonderful creations.

The art awards this week go to Karl Ferguson 5/6B and Jordan O'Sullivan 3/4C

STEM – Term 2, Week 3

This week in STEM, Prep students went for a walk around the school yard and had to identify different materials.

Grade 1/2s looked at the magic circle, otherwise known as the Möbius strip.

Grade 3/4s had to sort different materials into whether it was a human-made material or naturally occurring material.

Grade 5/6s started exploring the difference between reversible and irreversible changes.

Well done to Hadley Lynch and London Reiersen for receiving STEM certificates this week.

MUSIC NEWS TERM 2 WEEK 3

Hello everyone,

In Music this week, our Preps, 1s and 2s sang, moved and drew to animal music.

The 3/4s played ukuleles and experienced boogie-woogie music.

The 5/6s learned about music and orchestras by listening and observing. They also learned about the rhythm in tongue twisters, and created their own.

In Choir News, we are continuing to work hard on our parts for our songs.
