Principal's Report
Term 2
A very warm welcome back to Term 2. It has been fantastic to see the students returning to school this term refreshed and enthusiastic, ready to jump into another term of learning and new experiences.
Concord School Council 2024
School Councils play a key role in Victorian government schools. A school council develops a vision for the school in collaboration with all members of the school community and is actively involved in the achievement of the targets within the school’s annual plan.
During the recent process to establish the Concord School Council for 2024, the number of nominations in the Parent and Staff categories equalled the number of positions available, so an election was not required.
Please find below the membership of the 2024 School Council.
Student Opinion Survey
The Attitudes to Schools Survey (AtoSS) is an annual student survey offered by the Department of Education to assist schools to gain an understanding of students' perceptions and experience of school. Students will be asked about their thoughts and feelings in relation to their school, their learning, peer relationships, resilience, bullying, health and wellbeing, physical activity, and life in general.
This year, the AtoSS will be conducted at our school from the 13th to 24th of May for students in years 4-12.
Participation in this survey is voluntary. If you do not wish for your child to do the survey, please opt out via email to your school: Matthew.DiDomenica@education.vic.gov.au
Please email before 13th May, stating that you wish to opt out of your child’s participation, along with their name and year level.
If the school does not receive a Refusal of Consent email from yourself before 13th May, it means that you give your consent for your child to participate in the 2024 Attitudes to School Survey.
Further information about this survey, including the questions your child will be asked to answer, please visit the department’s survey information page.
School Uniform
As the weather become cooler, please be reminded that it is compulsory for all students to wear the full school uniform each day and that the school uniform policy is strictly enforced. Thank you to parents/carers who have supported their children in wearing the correct school uniform.
Please contact Melanie Jackson in the office at the Bundoora Campus regarding purchases of uniform. Further information, including policies and price lists, can be found through the school website at School Uniform - Concord School
Building Works
Our new Secondary 7/8 building has finally been completed and the beginning of Term 2 has seen our students transition over to their new building. All students and staff are very excited to be in their new space and the hallways and classrooms are filled with excitement.
Works has now commenced with the demolition of the old Secondary 7/8 building and the Primary Courtyard. This will make way for a new half basketball court, primary courtyard and playground. This next stage of exciting works should be complete early in Term 3.
